Welcome to the 12th Clancy Festival Art Trail which continues to expand, providing a platform for new, emerging, established and professional artists across all genres from Carrick on Suir, the Suir Valley Region and beyond to unite and showcase their latest eclectic creations.
Carrick-on-Suir has developed a reputation as something of an artists’ haven over recent years, and this June Bank Holiday weekend the annual Clancy Brothers Festival Art Trail will see 15 local galleries, theatres, heritage, Community and retails spaces along with artists’ studios open their doors to the general public and showcase the breadth of talent on offer here.
This year we are infusing the Art Trail with a nod to Woodstock ’69 as it celebrates its 50th Anniversary, so we will be releasing our inner artistic Hippie. With the help of local National Schools, Bridgewater House Community and local businesses we are decorating the town boho chic – flower power for the weekend.
Engaging with over 30 artists, writers and musicians across different genres, we will be ‘Co-Creating new music and spoken word performances, entwined with visual art installations’, taking synergy through the Arts to a whole new level!
We will be wowed by 3rd year students from LIT Clonmel with their ‘Digital Animation and Gaming’ end of year showcase and on-site ground breaking and unconventional alliance with writers, actors and film-makers.
We welcome ‘The Caravan of Love’ bohomobile performance stage curated by ‘The Wood of O’ …which is tie-dyed in with the biggest Art Trail to-date, so come along and uncover all the amazing groovy creativity on offer over the weekend! Caravan of Love Graphic artwork by Athena-made
